Boondocks 8 years old straight bourbon whiskey finished in port barrels:
Aging bourbon in barrels is an art, not a science. Finishing bourbon demands even more talent because you’re imparting additional flavor and character to what is essentially a completed product. We started with an incredibly smooth and rich 8 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey, hand-selected by our Master Distiller, Dave Scheurich, and then coaxed even more flavor and nuance out of it by aging it a little longer in used port barrels. Throughout the process, Dave routinely pulled samples to ensure the extra aging didn’t overpower the bourbon but complimented it, adding to the complexity and character.
