To craft the theGlenAllachie wine series, we first expertly matured our spirit in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Subsequently, the whisky underwent additional maturation for over two years in wine barriques skilfully sourced by master distiller Billy Walker, imparting a distinctive twist onto the classic glenAllachie spirit.

Each of our wine finishes has its own unique character and flavor profile influenced by the oak. factors such as the oak species, level of toasting, and coopering of the sketch leave a distinctive mark on the slumbering spirit. the oak itself was previously influenced by the grape variety and terroir of the winery from which we sourced these barriques; thus, the wood adds distinctive layers of complexity, depth, and charm.

Located in the beautiful Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy, the Grattamacco estate was a pioneer in the 'super Tuscan' wine movement and has since earned a reputation for producing world-class, vintage wine. practicing sustainable and natural methods in full respect of the environment, the casks from this winery bring fruit-forward character to our Speyside spirit. with notes of ripe red fruit and hints of warm spices on the palate, this deliciously sweet malt truly embodies the complexities of the red wine previously held in these barriques.
